Priory Vets of Evesham Road, Reigate, will host a New Year Pet and Equine Fair at Betchworth Village Hall on Tuesday, January 21.

The fair at the hall in Station Road from 7.30pm will feature around 20 stalls, mainly mounted by local businesses, either selling products, promoting charities or demonstrating animal-related services.

There will also be several drug companies running interactive stalls to promote specific animal disease awareness, such as pet diabetes or stomach ulcers in horses.

As part of the fair, the Priory Vets' first Pet of the Year award ceremony will be held, with the prizes being presented to the winners, each receiving free vaccinations for their pet in 2014 as donated by the relevant vaccine companies, who will be making the presentations.

More than 50 entries have been put forward for the veterinary practice's first awards, with stories ranging from owners who just adore their pets, to animals who have helped find injured people, pets who have helped owners or friends through cancer, and a variety of animals who have had to recover or deal with serious illness or injury during the last year.
