A Horley man is due to appear in court this week charged with two counts of assault and making threats to kill.

Tony Lloyd, 25, of Thornton Place, was charged by Surrey Police with the two counts of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, and making threats to kill, after the Force said two people were seriously assaulted in Horley.

A Surrey Police spokeswoman said: “The incident occurred at around 9.45am on Thursday, December 19, when a man forced entry to two properties on the Court Lodge Estate.”

She said: “A woman in her 40s suffered facial injury and an arm injury, which required hospital treatment following the assault. “She has since been discharged.”

The spokeswoman said a man aged in his 30s also suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remained in a serious but stable condition.

Lloyd appeared at South East Surrey Magistrates Court in Redhill on Friday, December 20, and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at Guildford Crown Court this Friday (January 3).
