East Surrey MP promoted in Government reshuffle
11:57am Tuesday 8th October 2013 in Local News
East Surrey MP Sam Gyimah has been promoted within the Government.
For while one cabinet minister lost his post in this week's Government reshuffle, and other key Coalition figures were moved around, Mr Gyimah was moved up to the Government Whips’ Office. The Whips’ Office is responsible for helping secure the passage of the Government’s legislative programme through Parliament. Mr Gyimah's new role follows on from his previous appointment in 2012 as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Prime Minister. Speaking after the announcement, the East Surrey MP said: “I’m delighted by the new appointment and the opportunity to take on a new challenge in Westminster.”
