Merstham photographer mum in running for top blog award

Aimee Marie, a photographer and blogger, made it through to the shortlist of the BiBs for her lifestyle blog.

Married to husband Ashley with son Byron, Aimee started blogging after she set up her photography website, aimeemarie.com Aimee said: “I studied Photography at East Surrey College from 2005 to2007, and at the same time started my website at aimeemarie.com. “It started as a small photography portfolio during this time, but has since evolved and developed into a home for my photography and my lifestyle blog, where I document the things I see, do and like. “I blog about anything and everything!”

She said: “One day I'm writing about my life as a mum, the next I'm reviewing cosmetics, and by the end of the week I can be found debating something I've overheard that's sparked an interest.

“No two posts are the same.”

Aimee said: “Blogging has opened up many doors for me and I've been lucky enough to work with many fantastic brands, try amazing products and best of all, meet some great like-minded people.”

She added: “As a photographer, it's a great way for my clients to get to know a little more about me too, as well as a great tool for me to share my images and ideas. “It's given me the confidence to start my own photography business.”

Aimee said: “Since becoming a parent, I've found there's a great deal of information, support and encouragement in the blogging community, and I'm very lucky to be a part of it.”

She said: “I'm thrilled to have been shortlisted in the 'photo' category of the BritMums Brilliance in Blogging Awards 2013, as it combines some of my favourite things - motherhood, photography and blogging.

“This is a very exciting time for me, as BritMums is the UK’s largest collective of lifestyle bloggers and digital influencers.

“Voting closes mid-May and I would love to make it to the final.”
