Redhill's Donyngs Leisure Centre will hold an open day this Sunday (November 18), with GB athlete Jacob Paul on hand to put people through their paces and inspire families to take up a local sports course.

The “Be Inspired” open day is aiming to seize on East Surrey's enthusiasm for sport in the wake of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The event will be the first in a series of open days enabling people to be inspired to get involved, challenge themselves and others, or try a new sport for the first time.

Visitors will have the chance to challenge themselves to swim the fastest length, beat the goalie and much more from 10am to 3pm.

People attending will also be entered into a prize draw.

Simon Sen, regional manager for GLL, the charitable social enterprise organising the event, said: “With the relaunch of the newly furbished sports hall, the ‘Be Inspired’ open day is a great way to show the community what is on offer at their local leisure centre.”
