2:30pm Friday 12th October 2012 in News
Horley's Jack Fairman pub is to hold a 19-day beer festival featuring the largest selection of overseas beers it has ever had available.
The pub in Victoria Road will be playing host to up to 40 real ales, including ten from overseas, during the event.
The overseas beers on offer have been sourced from brewers in Japan, Lithuania, Holland, Australia, Canada, Italy, USA and Belgium.
The festival will also feature beers from across the UK, including speciality beers with ingredients such as heather, grapefruit and elderberries, as well as beers brewed exclusively for the pub.
The festival will run from Wednesday, October 24, through to Sunday, November 11, inclusive, with all beers priced at £1.99 a pint.
Pub manager Ross Markwick said: “The festival will give people the opportunity to enjoy a superb selection of UK and international beers.”
He said: “We will be serving the largest selection of overseas beers ever available in the pub, together with a fantastic range of UK beers.
“Many of the beers on offer have not been available in the pub beforehand and I am looking forward to serving them.”
He added: “The festival promises to be great fun and I am certain that customers at The Jack Fairman will enjoy themselves.”
Customers will be able to sample any three of the real ales in special third-of-a-pint glasses for the price of a pint, and tasting notes on all of the beers will be available in the pub.
The overseas beers on sale will include Thirsty Beaver Amber Ale from the Tree Brewing Company, Canada, Baltijos Red Ale from Svyturys Brewery, Lithuania, and Tutto fa brood from Birra Del Borgo brewery, Italy.
The UK beers will include Ghost Train from Box Steam brewery, Moonraker from brewers J.W.Lees, and Crafty Devil brewed by Thwaites.
