Teenage girl airlifted to hospital after Redhill traffic collision

A 13-year-old girl was airlifted to hospital after suffering serious injuries when she was in collision with a car in Redhill.
The collision happened in Gatton Park Road this afternoon.
The girl was walking at the junction with Monson Road when she was in collision with a silver Honda Civic.
She suffered serious head injuries and was taken by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital.
The driver of the Honda Civic, a woman in her seventies, was not injured.
Police closed Gatton Park Road between the junctions with Colesmead Road and the A23 London Road, after the collision, while officers examined the scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision at about 5.20pm to call Surrey Police's Collision Investigation Unit on 01483 639922, quoting reference P12273983, or to call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
