Members of YMCA children's services set to bag packing at Sainsbury's in Redhill, as well as running face-painting sessions and handing out balloons and badges, to mark the charity's team-up with the store.
Customers and colleagues at the branch voted to select the YMCA Reigate and Redhill to be the branch's local charity partner.
Money raised from the partnership launch day will go towards helping children with disabilities access activities at the YMCA.
More visits are planned during the year to cover other aspects of the charity’s work including youth volunteering, the MEND programme which encourages healthy eating for children, sports, health, exercise and fitness and Hillbrook House, supported living for adults from ages 16 to 30.
Sainsbury’s staff will also support the charity with fundraising activities of their own throughout the year.
Store colleague Lynn Savage, who was involved in the selection process, said: “The YMCA really stood out as a local charity that we could really benefit through volunteering and fundraising.
“It’s great to be supporting the YMCA and helping them change lives for the better.”
