Relate Mid Surrey in Reigate is running workshops and courses to help the general public have better relationships.

“Relate is about a lot more than counselling. We believe that everyone can benefit from taking a look at how they relate to their friends, family and colleagues through coming to workshops or short courses," explains Janine, CEO of Relate Mid Surrey.

"This autumn we’re covering a range of issues, from improving your parenting, moving forward after divorce/separation to managing anxiety."

• TEEN talk: This 2-hour session explores the most effective ways to parent teenagers, through explaining adolescent brain development and using video role play & discussion to consider parenting strategies (Saturday 15 November, 10am-12pm)

• Parents Apart: For parents who have separated/divorced or are in the process of doing so, this one-day workshop explores the impact upon children and helps parents develop a new and different parenting style, suited to living separately (Saturday 18 October, Saturday 6 December, 9.30am-3.30pm)

• Moving Forward - After Divorce And Separation: Much focus is placed on deciding whether to break up but moving forward, after making the decision to part, is just as important. This one-day workshop unpacks the process of coming to terms with ending a relationship, rebuilds clients’ confidence and teaches the skills to respond to their own needs and those of others’ in their personal circle (Saturday 22 November, 9.30am-3.30pm)
