Redhill-born oboe virtuoso Fiona Myall is set to return to her old stamping ground this month for a concert in Reigate.

Fiona, who was brought up in Reigate, will be joining Redhill Sinfonia for a performance of Vaughan-Williams' Oboe Concerto at Reigate Park Church on Saturday, June 21.

Fiona, who is much in demand for her solo and chamber music recitals, as well as appearing regularly with orchestras in London and the South-east, went to Reigate Grammar School, and played in the Surrey County Youth Wind Orchestra for six years. She first appeared at the Reigate and Redhill Music Festival at the age of seven. She went on to study oboe and cor anglais at the Birmingham Conservatoire, before post-graduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she gained a Masters in Performance with distinction. She is currently a member of the London Myriad Ensemble.

Also on the programme of the Reigate concert on Saturday, June 21, at 7.45pm, which will be conducted by John Beswick, will be Kodaly's Dances of Galanta and Bizet's Symphony No 1.

Tickets, priced £11, with Under 18s £5, are available from orchestra members, online at: www.WeGotTickets.com or on the door, subject to availability.
