A Crawley man has been charged with defrauding two passengers at Gatwick Airport.
Abad Najib Mohammad, 56, of Tuscany Gardens, Crawley, has been charged by Sussex Police with two offences of fraud by false representation relating to incidents at the airport on March 23 and 30.
A Sussex Police spokesman said he has been released on police bail to appear at Crawley Magistrates Court on Wednesday, April 16.
The spokesman said the charges followed an investigation by police at Gatwick into two incidents in which passengers flying into the airport late in the evening were approached by a man.
In the first case, a passenger reported that he handed a man, who claimed to be working for a bus company, 145 Euros for a lift to Heathrow in a private car. The second case involves an allegation that another passenger paid £200 to a man who said he had to pay this in order to remain at the airport overnight.
