Plans for new homes and shops in Merstham have gone on show.

An exhibition on the proposals has been mounted at Merstham Library in Weldon Way, Merstham, and will run until this Saturday (February 22).

The display will then run at the Merstham Help Desk at 26 Portland Drive, Merstham, from Monday (February 24) until Friday, February 28.

The exhibition covers the proposals for 40 new homes at Purbeck Close, 48 new homes at Portland Drive following demolition of the existing parade and flats, a new convenience store and shops with ten apartments above at the Iron Horse site, and three new shops and new combined community facilities at the Triangle site.

Reigate and Banstead Borough Council staff will be on hand at Merstham Library this Friday from 11am to 1pm, and this Saturday from 10am to noon, to answer questions and receive comments about the proposals.

Natalie Bramhall, borough council executive member for property and regeneration, said: “These proposals are set to transform Merstham, so I strongly urge local residents to visit the exhibition and find out what the plans could mean for you.”

She said: “You can see the proposals in detail and, at the sessions on Friday and Saturday morning, staff will be on hand to answer questions.”

Coun Bramhall added: “We want to hear the views of Merstham residents, so come along to the exhibition and tell us what you think.”
