Madagascar talk to be given in Buckland
11:40am Friday 11th October 2013 in News
Chris Sewell will give a talk entitled, Madagascar: Stepping back from the Edge, at the next meeting of the Buckland One World Group in the Reading Room in Old Road, Buckland, on Friday, November 1, at 8pm.
A charity collection will be taken for Madagascar.
The Buckland One World Group was set up in 1979 to focus attention on problems facing poor people in developing countries, and to raise money for worthwhile projects in those countries. The group's ‘core’ charity is Money for Madagascar, which spends 96% of its income on supporting the people of an extremely poor country that does not receive much outside support. The charity sponsors projects to provide people with the skills necessary to earn a living. Proceeds from talks organised by the group go to the charity nominated by the speaker.
