Redhill women's fitness club aiming to help "punch out" breast cancer
11:00am Thursday 3rd October 2013 in News
Curves in Redhill, part of the world’s largest fitness franchise for women, is inviting women to join it for free in exchange for a suggested donation of £20 to Breast Cancer Care.
The club is running the offer to mark October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Women are being encouraged to join and complete ten work-outs in honour of someone who has battled breast cancer.
A poster will be displayed in the club for each participant to sign as a way to show community support. Rachel Stock of Curves said: “The Curves mission is to strengthen women and this promotion helps us do just that.
“This is a fun way for women to get involved and help punch out cancer, but it also gives us the opportunity to teach the importance of exercising regularly and maintaining a healthy weight. “After all, 30 minutes of ‘me’ time is always a good thing.” Rosie Clements, marketing manager for Curves UK/Ireland, said: “Women are always looking for new, unique ways to help make a difference in the fight against breast cancer. “Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a great way to not only donate money to a special cause, but it is also a fun way to help improve your own personal health.
“Breast cancer continues to be among the most common cancers for women worldwide. We are honoured to be aiding in the fight.” For more details about Curves, including terms and conditions of the offer, call Rachel on 01737 769555. Website: www.curves.co.uk
