Frack Free Surrey group to hold meeting on test-drilling sites, including Bletchingley
11:50am Friday 27th September 2013 in News
Residents of Bletchingley are among those being alerted to the granting of test-drilling licences for the controversial method of gas extraction, known as fracking.
The Frack Free Surrey group has said licences have been granted for sites in Bletchingley and Lingfield, as well as at Albury, Palmer’s Wood, Brockham, Bromley, Sutton and Croydon. The group has stated: “Facts about unintended consequences of shale-gas extraction methods need to be shared with communities who are likely to experience test-drilling in the neighbourhood in the near future.”
To this end, Frack Free Surrey will be holding a meeting at Oxted Library in Gresham Road, Oxted, next Tuesday (October 1) at 7pm, with donations welcomed.
