Man dies after traffic collision in Horley

A man has died after being in collision with a car in Horley last night.

The man, believed to be aged in his 40s, was walking in Bonehurst Road when he was in collision with a grey Mercedes Coupe just before 9.30pm.

Officers and paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service were quickly on the scene, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead there.

Officers closed the A23 Bonehurst Road in both directions between the junctions with Ladbroke Road and Chestnut Road following the collision, and set up diversions, while collision investigators examined the scene.

Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the pedestrian or the vehicle prior to the incident, to call the Force's Collision Investigation Unit on 01483 639922, quoting reference P13070960, or call 101.
