Two dates with local history in Horley

Peter Cox will give an illustrated talk about the archaeological discoveries made in the north-east sector of Horley, The Acres development, at the next meeting of Horley Local History Society. The meeting, which will also be the society's annual general meeting, will take place at the Strawson Hall, 156 Albert Road, Horley, on Thursday, February 28, at 8pm. Visitors £1. On Wednesday, March 13, Horley Local History Centre will hold its annual general meeting at Horley Library, with visitors welcome and refreshments to be served from 7pm.
The meeting will be followed by an illustrated talk given by David Hall entitled, The Ongoing Saga of Yattendon – the connection between a village in Berkshire and a past mansion, a road name and a school in Horley. Admission free.
