Walking group steps out on a special spring venture in Reigate

A walking group set up in East Surrey for expectant mothers and their bumps, along with new mums and their babies in slings or buggies, is stepping out on a new venture.

The Redhill, Reigate and Horley National Childbirth Trust (NCT) branch’s Bumps, Buggies and Bundles walking group will be holding a special Spring Walk next month – and is inviting all local parents and their children - and their grandparents - to join them. The group have been enjoying walks round Reigate's Priory Park on Friday mornings for more than six months now.

Helen Clark, branch chairman of NCT Redhill, Reigate and Horley, said: “Walking with your baby is a great way to exercise and meet other parents.”

She said: “Over 70 new parents have walked with Bumps, Buggies and Bundles over the past year, and we are thrilled to be reaching more parents now by also holding monthly sling walks in Merstham.”

The walks are tailored to the needs of the group, so everyone can join in whether heavily pregnant or keen to get some post-pregnancy exercise.

The group's spring walk over Colley Hill in Reigate (at various speeds) on Saturday, March 16, will be the first social activity for the growing and busy branch this year, and will be followed by the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at The Hawthorns School, Bletchingley, on Sunday, March 24, from 2pm to 4pm.
