Double TV celebrity opening for renovated Redhill showroom
1:43pm Wednesday 6th February 2013 in News
Two TV celebrities will be visiting Redhill next week to open the doors, fittingly, to a new state-of-the-art doors showroom.
Channel 4’s George Clarke and BBC’s Dominic Littlewood will be at Redhill Business Park to perform the opening ceremony for Express Bi Folding Doors' £100,000 showroom renovation.
The big renovation has seen the showroom more than double in size, creating a new space to showcase its latest bi folding door and window products.
The TV presenters will be at the showroom on Saturday, February 16, for a day that will start with tours at 10am, culminate with the official opening at 3pm, and include food and drink and children's entertainment.
The pair will then speak about their own experiences of dealing with the company. Express has installed products on properties for Dominic Littlewood and worked with George Clarke on several occasions. And George will be on hand to offer clients advice on the designs and plans for their property, while Dominic will reveal what to look out for when searching for tradespeople and give tips on haggling for the best deal. Other industry professionals attending will include architects and interiors designers, with the aim of meeting homeowners and offering help with projects and renovations. The official relaunch will mark the start of several months of events which will include seminars on building regulations and planning changes, and architectural open days.
There will also be open days for local builders and glazing companies.
Steve Young, general manager of Express, said: “We want the local community and businesses to see it as a hub - somewhere to call in for expert advice, useful contacts and inspiration, or just for a coffee.“ He said: “We’ve been working on the development since last November and we’re delighted with the outcome. “The aim is to turn the showroom into a centre where both retail and trade clients can come to generate and discuss ideas for how their development will look and work.”
He said: “We’ve made a conscious effort to only use local firms with the redevelopment.
“We’ve used local companies for the signage and to help us furnish the premises - plus, all building materials have been sourced locally. “Establishing and maintaining strong relationships within the community is at the core of our business.” Steve also hopes that they will be able to recruit people from across Surrey to work for the showroom.
He said: ‘We’re looking for installation teams, surveyors and engineers. “The new employees will work alongside the existing team of five full-time sales staff and four full-time installers, fitting homes and commercial premises with high-end, aluminium bi folding and sliding doors, roofing systems and windows.”
Express has teamed up with Surrey-based Alltask, one of the largest construction companies in the UK, who will carry out all the building development for Express clients.
Express Bi Folding Doors is a family-owned business set up in 2007, which has grown to become the largest specialist manufacturers of bespoke aluminium folding doors, sliding doors, aluminium window and roofing products in the UK.
