Thieves break into Reigate ice-skating rink

Thieves broke into an ice-skating rink in Reigate and stole four pairs of skates.

The raiders forced their way into the temporary rink in Bell Street on Friday, January 4, between 9pm and 11pm.

They moved and damaged a number of plastic penguins used to help children using the rink.

Reigate Neighbourhood Officer PC Dan Kite, said: "I would appeal to anyone who has information on this incident, or who saw anything suspicious around the time the theft took place, to contact officers with information.” PC Kite said: “The ice skating rink was put there over the winter for the residents of Reigate to enjoy and has been a very popular attraction, so it is a shame a minority feels the need to spoil this.” Anyone with information should call Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference RB/13/136, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
