Fitness club Curves Redhill has raised vital funds in support of charity Breast Cancer Care during the October Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.

The club helped to raise money for Breast Cancer Care to highlight the importance of early detection and prevention amongst its members, through a series of fundraising and informative activities.

Designed for women and located above The Belfry shopping centre, Curves Redhill also waived its service fee for new members from October 15 to 31 in return for a £20 donation to Breast Cancer Care. The club raised £2,000, which will go to support the cause's free and confidential helpline, its wider services, and improve standards of care for women with breast cancer. Curves Redhill has been fundraising for breast cancer charities for the past seven years and has so far collected more than £12,000.

Owner Rachel Stock said: "Fundraising for breast cancer charities is something which unites the Curves community globally, and we're delighted to champion Breast Cancer Care, whose goals of supporting and strengthening women match Curves’ core values extremely well.”

Ms Stock said: “With one in eight women at risk of developing breast cancer in their lifetime, Curves and its members cannot afford to ignore such a pertinent health matter.

“We are committed to not only supporting research through funding, but also increasing awareness by encouraging our members to take a proactive approach to breast health, whilst lowering their risk through regular exercise.” Curves Redhill hosted activities in support of Breast Cancer Care including a raffle and a competition to decorate a bra.
