Reigate four-year-old raises hundreds of pounds in memory of her granddad

Four-year-old Crystal Follett from Reigate took to her heels in Hampshire at the weekend to raise hundreds of pounds in memory of her grandfather.
For Crystal took part in the BUPA Mini Great South Run in Southsea, running 1.5-kilometres in aid of The Stroke Association.
Crystal lost her granddad Ron Berridge to a stroke last year, aged 68.
At the weekend, she became the first and only child to run the BUPA Mini Great South Run for the Stroke Association, and raised about £625.
Crystal, who goes to Dovers Green School, ran the event on Southsea seafront with her mum, Rebecca, while her uncle, Neil Berridge, and cousins Maria and Rafael Berridge, ran in aid of the stroke unit at St Mary's Hospital on the Isle of Wight, where her granddad Ron was cared for.
Crystal's dad, Simon, said: “We had a great time.
“The Stroke Association had 250 runners running in the main race, but Crystal was the only one running for them in the children's run.”
He said Crystal, who enjoys riding her bike as well as ballet and tap dancing, was presented with a medal and a treats bag afterwards.
“She's only just started school,” he said. “She loved the Olympics and hopefully she will like running.”
