A seven-and-a-half acre garden in the middle of Reigate was the picturesque setting for a fundraising day for the Parkinson's Disease Society.
The "secret garden" - which is just 500 yards from Reigate town centre - is owned by Bob and Marj Bushby, of Caxton House in West Street.
Bob and Marj, who has progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), a rare type of Parkinsonism, organised the event with Kevin Shergold, who is also living with Parkinson's.
All three are members of the Guildford and South Surrey branch of the PDS.
More than 500 visitors enjoyed the garden's wild wood, three ponds, manicured lawns and a range of shrubs, plants and trees. The event, which included special guests actress Jane Asher and her husband, the artist Gerald Scarfe, raised £2,895 for the Guildford and Surrey branch of the society.
Mr. Shergold said: "I'm very proud we were able to raise this money to help people living with Parkinson's."
Ms Asher, who is president of the PDS, said: "Gerald and I had a wonderful time at Bob and Marj's garden party and it was fantastic to see such a great turnout.
"We really enjoyed meeting so many members of the local community and exploring the beautiful garden, and I'd like to thank everybody who helped to organise such a terrific event.
"Because the PDS is entirely dependent on voluntary donations, we rely on the generosity of people like Bob and Marj and all those who attended to help us in our efforts to raise money for this extremely important and urgent cause."
