ACCLAIMED singer Jacqui Dankworth comes to Epsom Playhouse next month to perform an eagerly-anticipated concert.

Jacqui, daughter of jazz legends Cleo Laine and John Dankworth and warmly hailed in her own right as an outstanding talent, will be taking the stage at the Playhouse on Wednesday, September 17, at 8pm.

With a live repertoire which draws on all kinds of influences including jazz, soul, folk and blues, Jacqui has long been winning fans and rave reviews.

Having first enjoyed stage success as an actress with companies including the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre, she then turned to her passion of music and has not looked back.

Her music CV includes touring and recording with the Brodsky Quartet, singing alongside Courtney Pine at the Royal Festival Hall, featuring on his album, Devotion, and a world tour as guest vocalist with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

She has also hosted a show on BBC Radio 3 with her mother and released her own albums as well as featuring on numerous others.

She is expected to begin work on a a new album later this year.

REDFEST music festival returns to Redhill this weekend with some 30 bands and performers playing at Robins Cook Farm in Kings Mill Lane from Friday, August 8, to Sunday, August 10.

Also featuring a funfair, food and market stalls, a bar, DJs and fireworks, the event will see ten bands performing on each day with the line-up including Pete and the Pirates, Satellite State, Stagecoach and WinterKids.
