THIS first-rate, Oscar-winning documentary by director Alex Gibney uses the arrest, imprisonment and killing of an Afghan taxi driver by American troops as a focal point to explore the USA's use of torture in the infamous Bagram, Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay military prisons.
Gibney, who directed Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room, has made a superb film that uses balanced journalism and eye witness accounts - even interviews with some of the men court-martialled over the cabbie's death - concluding that the men at the top are to blame for breaching the Geneva Convention.
It's tough to watch, frequently disturbing, but a powerful and necessary piece of film-making.
