It stars Hilary Swank as New Yorker Holly and Gerard '300' Butler as Gerry, a mostly loving couple.
They are a bit of a mismatched couple who married young - she's a bit uptight with a father complex while he's laid back and charming.
Holly's world is turned upside down when Gerry dies, leaving her devastated and incapable of coping with life without him - that is until
a series of letters he wrote for her start to arrive.
Gerry penned them before he died and arranged for them to be delivered throughout the year.

Thanks to his words of love, Holly learns how to get on with her life and cope with her grief and there's not a dry eye in the house...
It's quite a well judged mainstream film with nice performances from the two leads.
They are also given great comic support from Lisa Kudrow and Harry Connick Jr as their no nonsense friends.
It's aimed at the female market and undeniably cheesy but it's still well made cheese.
