SWINDON Town manager Dennis Wise has slammed Accrington Stanley's Fraser Eagle stadium.

As a player the former Chelsea and England midfielder graced the turf at grounds across the continent but the Robins boss admitted he found the facilities hard to handle as his side struggled to a draw on Saturday.

And he believed Swindon would not be the only team to find the going tough.

He said: "Sometimes you come to places like this, you see the pitch, the pitch is slanted, there's bumps all over the place, the place is not an inviting place to come to and you have to be mentally prepared for this game," he said.

"I think Wycombe found that out the other week.

"Teams up there are going to find it very difficult coming to this place because it's not very nice to come to.

"I'm not saying the fans aren't nice, the fans are very nice, but the actual place and the stadium and the pitch, is not good.

"You have to be mentally right and I don't think in the first half we were right, but in the end we put a lot of pressure on them and got an equaliser."

Swindon battled back to rescue a point - their fourth draw of the season - after Andy Todd opened the scoring after the half-hour mark.

But according to Wise there was only going to be one winner after Lee Peacock levelled.

He added: "We didn't get started but I don't think they really got started in the first half.

"We end up finding ourselves one down and we can't really work out how.

"It was a mistake unfortunately and, at the present moment in time, we seem to make one mistake and it seems to end up in the back of our net.

"It's costing us at present but there's a lot of pluses come out of that.

"Only one team was going to win the game.

"I keep saying it and we keep putting in performances in the second half as we do and we just need that little bit of finishing to finish the game off."
