A MUM is appealing for the witness - who helped her teenage son after he was knocked off his moped - to come forward.

She believes the good Samaritan could have information crucial to police officers investigating the January 15 incident in which 16-year-old Daniel George was injured.

"The man pulled over and used Daniel's friend's mobile to call my husband," the 34-year-old said.

"Daniel's friends think he then used his own to call 999.

"It was very good of him to stop but unfortunately he left before police arrived."

Daniel and four friends, also on mopeds, had been driving around Bridge Foot from Chester Road in the direction of JJB gym when the collision happened shortly after 9.30pm.

The vehicle, which did not stop, is described as a white Mondeo or Megane with a black roof rack.

Daniel, who works for a window company, suffered bruising to his legs, arms and shoulder and had to be off work for a week.

There is no description of the good Samaritan or his vehicle and he did not give his name when he spoke to Daniel's dad.
