Shrivenham A became the second North Berks team to reach a county cup final this season, as they convincingly beat Slough Laurencians in the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup 4-1.

Shrivenham came out of the blocks fast and hit Slough hard in the first 20 minutes of the match, going 2-0 ahead.

Firstly Neil Sutton scored from close range after 10 minutes and then Paul Sanders drove home on 17 minutes, in similar moves where the ball was pulled back from the by-line.

Tom Rawle headed home No 3 from a Matt Hampson cross early in the second half but the home side scored immediately to make it 3-1 and applied strong pressure thereafter.

Working well as a unit, Shrivenham held firm and sealed the game with another goal from Sutton, after good work by Sanders created the chance.

The final will be played at Burnham FC on Saturday, April 14, where Shrivenham will meet Walton Court Wanderers.

In the semi-finals of the North Berks Charity Shield, Coleshill United never looked troubled after taking an early lead against Blewbury through Chris Quinten.

After only six minutes, a corner from the right found Quinten who headed home from the edge of the six-yard box.

Fifteen minutes later Coleshill's Christian Ayres had a back-headed goal ruled out for offside but on 30 minutes Sean Lewis got his first goal of the season, robbing a defender and shooting low past Dan Turner in the Blewbury goal, to make it 2-0.

Blewbury's forwards Gareth Fenton and Johnny Pearce struggled to find a way past the Coleshill's defence and it wasn't until the 70th minute that Coleshill keeper John Painter had to make a save when Pearce broke through.

Ayres wrapped the game up with a fierce drive into the far right corner but the injured Turner had some consolation with a fine penalty save in the 85th minute from Liam Humphreys.

In the other, all-Division 2 semi-final, Harwell International edged a close game against Sutton Courtenay 2-1.

Ardington & Lockinge went back to the top of Division One and effectively ended the reign of last season's champions Lambourn Sports with a resounding 3-0 win.

Former Lambourn player Matthew Pedder struck twice to sink his former mates with Steve Cudden getting the other as unbeaten Ardington completed the double over their title rivals.

Faringdon Town maintained fourth place with a 2-1 win over Wallingford Athletic, thanks to goals from Steve Olphert and Gary Sutton's 14th of the season.

No change in Division Four, as all the leading title and promotion challengers won. Leaders Childrey United comfortably saw off Uffington United 4-0, with goals from Alan Donnelly (2), Jamie Dutton and Jason Kendall (pen), while Botley United won 3-0 at Steventon Reserves.

Challow United also won 4-0, this against double cup-finalist Wootton Reserves. Goals from Neil Cheshire, Lee Cheril, Kevin Pryde and Adam Wise kept them in touch with the top two.

In Division Five, Didcot Casuals Reserves moved into second place after a crucial win against fellow promotion rivals Benson AFC Reserves.

The men on target for Didcot in the 3-2 win were Sean Beard (2) and Chris Dean, while Tim Millard and Simon Cowlard netted for Benson.
