HELSTON COLTS u11s 1

HOLMAN HARRIERS 3

HELSTON'S second of three consecutive matches against Holman's started with Holman's kicking off on a very windy day.

From a win the previous week, Helston knew that Holmans were going to be a more determined side, and from the numerous free kicks awarded to Helston during the match that proved correct.

The first half produced some end to end play Helston had a few off target shots and missed an open goal. Holmans had their chances which forced a couple of fine saves from Helston goalkeeper Matt Quick and good defending from regulars Lee Padgeth and Joe Norman.

During the half more pressure from Holmans on the Helston defence, another block from Matt Quick, with a scramble producing a knock to the goalies' head and Holman's first goal.

Holman's second goal came from a midfield lob.

From the restart the rest of the half saw the ball played around the pitch with neither team getting the upper hand.

The second half saw a lot of hard tackling, a string of saves from both goalies and a lot of pressure on both defences.

Holman's third goal came after a Helston player was brought down by being sandwiched, allowing Holmans space, and a low hard shot put the ball into the back of the Helston goal.

Helston's only goal of the game came in the last couple of minutes of play. Helston were in Holman's area and a sliding tackle took down a Helston player with the referee pointing straight at the penalty spot. Midfielder Josh Bosustow's spotkick gave the goalie no chance.
