A TRAINING company from Watford has been named as one of this year's outstanding providers for education and training.

JHP Training, based in High Street, was acknowledged by David Sherlock, chief inspector of the Adult Learning Inspectorate (ALI), in his government report to ministers.

Mr Sherlock said: "They have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to achieving the very highest standards in the quality of training they offer.

"To be one of the top providers in the country is a tremendous achievement and a great credit to the team at JHP."

JHP have been in business for 23 years and have helped more than 300,000 people achieve qualifications and get jobs.

Operations director Kristian Henderson-Morrow said: "We have always believed that we do a good job and make a real difference to people who work with us.

"Achieving this recognition for the quality of our work is fantastic news as it shows that the dedication of our staff really counts."

JHP also recently held their end of year awards, which celebrate achievement within the company and recognise companies who are fully committed towards apprenticeships.

The large company winner was Coface, a banking and insurance firm, and the small company winner was Spectrum Interactive, who provide internet desks and payphones across the UK and Germany.

Kelly Leonard, an employee of training and recruitment company Cerco, was named Learner of the Year, and Apprentice of the Year was Glenn Lewis.

Cheryl Jones, centre manager, said: "Kelly was given the opportunity to do an business administration apprenticeship.

"She never gave up, was positive and stayed with it.

"And we took Glenn on and he grew from strength to strength.

"Now he works for a pharmaceutical company."
