HUNDREDS of children and adults took part in the county music festi val in Truro last week with the event being declared a great success.

Evelyn Boscawen, High Sheriff of Cornwall, opened the competition at Truro Methodist Church.

More than 2,000 competitors in 140 classes from schools all over Cornwall sang, played instruments and recited poetry from Monday to Saturday. It culminated with a gala concert at the church on Saturday night.

The adjudicator was Stuart Smith, who is originally from Montana in the USA.
