WORCESTER JUNIORS 2, CALLOW END 5

CALLOW End travelled to Hallow to play Worcester Juniors, who were unbeaten in the Worcester and District League Sunday Division One in 2007.

Player manager Hayden Jordan was forced into a few changes to the regular line-up but despite falling behind to an opportunist strike by Chris White, the team performed well.

Veteran Danny Hilditch missed a 20th minute penalty but Callow remained patient and got their just rewards when Alex Jelleyman scored a superb overhead kick on 25 minutes. By now Sam Black's pace was causing the home defence all sorts of problems, and in a counter-attack Adam Morse curled a lovely goal past the Juniors' goalkeeper right into the far corner of the goal.

In the second-half Callow End went 3-1 up when Sam Black outpaced the defence to fire in from close range.

Callow End conceded a penalty on the hour mark when experienced defender Graham Crowe handled an awkward cross in the area. The dangerous Chris White blasted in the penalty which Callow End responded to with Sam Black scoring twice in the last 15 minutes to wrap up a well fought win.

Callow end's next fixture is at home to the bottom club Cutnall Green FC on April 1.

The club is still seeking players to add to the squad and players are welcome at training on Thursdays at Warndon Youth Centre.
