WALK THIS WAY: Bexley's mayor and mayoress, councillors Brian and Aileen Beckwith, joined mayors from across London to recreate Dick Whittington's original walk 600 years ago from the Whittington Stone to the Mansion House.
They raised more than £500 for the mayor's charity appeal for Bexley's Parkinson's Disease Society.
NEW SERVICE: Bexley Council's contact centre will now deal with people who call their library. By calling 020 8303 7777, people can book computer time, find a book or renew borrowed items even when the libraries are closed. The same service is also available online through the e-library at bexley.gov.uk
DRIVERS NEEDED: Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is looking for volunteer drivers to help transport its elderly patients to appointments in Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich. Drivers must be aged over 25 and been driving for at least five years. Expenses will be paid. Call 020 8836 8510.
