The mum of murdered student Eugene Attram has paid an emotional tribute to her son.
Eugene, who was studying at Ernest Bevin sixth form college in Tooting, was stabbed during a savage street brawl between 30 youth in Mitcham on November 4.
Eugene's mum, Maureen Enyonam, said: "Eugene was studying art, English literature, business studies and sports science at AS level. Recently, he had taken a Saturday job with a large retail store and was enjoying that very much.
"He was a good all round sportsman and had a dream of becoming a professional footballer one day. He was always very thoughtful of others and had been learning how to teach table tennis to youngsters."
Detectives investigating Eugene's murder are calling for anyone who was in the Lavender Avenue area at the time of the stabbing to come forward.
Detective Inspector Mervin said: "We understand that you might be feeling frightened by what you know but I appeal to anyone who was there to come and talk to us. Also I appeal to parents or friends who know someone who was there that night to advise them to speak to police."
Eugene's dad, Mack Attram, appealed for witnesses to the fight to come forward.
He said: "Please think of us and how we are feeling. The police need any information. If you know something, anything, please come forward."
Anyone who has information should call the incident room on 020 8721 4005 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
