A 600-year-old mystery could be unravelled when a highly acclaimed play is staged at Worcester Cathedral.
Next week The Worcester Pilgrim, staring Robert Lister, David Hargreave and Andy Hockley will bring the true story of a traveller to life.
In 1987 workers discovered the remains of a body at the base of the Cathedral's southeast tower and historians started to wonder why the man was buried in such a sacred spot.
The play tells the story of the pilgrim, a man called William Dunne, who arrived at the Cathedral one night in 1403 for peace and forgiveness before he died.
Written by Malvern playwright Alex Jones the play was first performed on Radio 4 in 2003 and the live production, which run until Saturday, October 7, will be accompanied by an exhibition of artists' books.
Tickets are available from the Worcester Live box office on 01905 611427.
