I am hanging my head in shame.

I have been caught out breaching someone else's copyright and could have got those lovely people at the Argus into all sorts of trouble for which I apologise most sincerely.

You may remember my "Cul-de-sac" blog of a couple of days ago and you may notice that it no longer appears on the site. I admit it. I spotted this on another blog site and I thought it was brilliant and I pinched it.

I have had a polite but firm e-mail from Mark warning me not to do it again and I publicly eat humble pie and promise him that I won't.

In my defence I would point out that I did change it a bit from its original form, but obviously changing a few words here and there and correcting the punctuation was not enough to satisfy the copyright owner.

I guess there's a lesson for us all here. There are some of us who may just be taking this blog thing a bit too seriously.

Mervyn pointed out a couple of days ago that it's difficult to constantly think up new and interesting things to say but some of us, particularly Gill and I, have been doing these blogs from Day 1 and do our best to post something or other every single day.

The trouble is the whole thing becomes a bit addictive and we start to get withdrawal symptoms if we don't.

Perhaps, as Mervyn intimated, we really need to get a life!

What makes this particular transgression even worse though is that it is the second time in a week that Mark has had to pull one of my blogs.

The first one never even got onto the site because, as he pointed out to me, it was blatantly in breach of contempt laws. I had launched a tirade against child rapists and murderers and named someone who as yet remains unconvicted of offences with which he has been charged.

Ah well, I can always write about my journeys to work each day and what I had to eat for lunch.

Happy reading!
