Duchy College Rosewarne is holding an Advice Session on Wednesday November 29 from 2pm for students who are deciding on what to do after their GCSEs or for anyone thinking about studying a university-level course.

For students who are currently in Year 11 at school and working towards their GCSEs, this is the time to enquire and decide on courses for a September 2007 start, with the College deadline for applications fast approaching at the end of February 2007. Advice and guidance is available at Duchy College Rosewarne for study in a number of specialist areas including agriculture, animal care, conservation, horticulture, floristry, land based engineering and veterinary nursing.

For anyone thinking about studying a university-level course, such as a foundation degree, the deadline is even closer, in January for full time applications. Foundation degrees are practical, university level courses that prepare students with relevant skills for employment. Foundation degrees at Duchy College are approved by the University of Plymouth and form part of the Combined Universities in Cornwall initiative, which is helping grow the range and number of university level courses available locally in Cornwall.

John Latham, Principal and CEO of Cornwall College, said: "We hold a number of advice sessions at each of Cornwall College's campus sites to give prospective students a chance to find out about the range of courses available. It is a great opportunity to meet tutors and ask questions about the courses we offer. I would encourage anyone to attend who is leaving school next summer or thinking about returning to education, particularly if they are interested in our specialist areas of agriculture, animal care, conservation, horticulture, floristry, land based engineering and veterinary nursing."
