OXFORD Harlequins will be strong favourites to defeat Witney and retain the Oxfordshire Cup at Iffley Road tomorrow (3.30pm).

Quins beat the same opponents 19-12 last year after riding their luck in an entertaining clash.

But the South West 1 side have been in much better form this year and should have too much behind the scrum for Witney from Southern Counties North - two divisions below.

Quins director of rugby Matt Maudsley said: "Our players are not going to let up for it. They really want to win.

"I was really disappointed with the our performance in last year's final, so hopefully they are going to give a good account of themselves this time."

Quins are likely to be at full strength for the match, but Witney's star flanker Will Worrall is an injury doubt, so Carl Campbell is on standy.

Witney captain Jez Hicks said: "I think everyone is feeling confident this year. We ran them very close in last year's final.

"We also played them in a pre-season friendly and that was very close again.

"Last year was the first time we had been in a big final and it was all new.

"This year we can relax and enjoy it a bit more."

Holders Wallingford take on Bicester in the Shield final at noon, fresh from sealing the BB&O Premier Division title with a 100 per cent record.

Flanker Kris Blaszko captains Wallingford as regular skipper Olli Henderson is in New Zealand for his sister's wedding, while back Henry Pooler is ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Lock Toby Clyde-Smith is out for Bicester after injuring ankle ligaments last week, so Dan Spencer will switch from flanker with Dan Kimber coming in at No 6.
