A goal midway through the second half by Liam Morley gave Harwich and Parkeston the points at the Royal Oak against Halstead Town on Tuesday night.
Town were watched for the first time by new manager Jody Brown, who was appointed as Tony Kinsella's succcessor last week.
The defeat leaves Town one point off the bottom of the Ridgeons League premier division table.
