CHIPPENHAM completed a hat-trick of victories in Sunday's Wiltshire Cup age group finals, but were denied a clean sweep by north Wiltshire rivals Corsham.

The under 16s won 10-5 at Salisbury to retain the cup they won last year.

Salisbury took the lead when they scored the opening try after setting up a maul.

The second half saw Salisbury continue to put pressure on the Chippenham defence, but the visitors managed to hold on and turn defence into attack.

They charged into the Salisbury defence, with Luke Flower being released to pressurise their back line. The ball was then moved out wide for Chippenham to set up a ruck and Liam Baker gathered and dived over for the equalising try.

From this point, Chippenham dominated most phases of play to set their backs in motion and allowed them to release Tom Stanley to score their second try.

Chippenham under 15s 33, Salisbury under 15s 10

CHIPPENHAM went into the under 15s final as the underdogs, having lost earlier in the season to Salisbury.

But it was Chippenham who came out of the starting blocks and after five minutes centre House offloaded the ball from a half break to Jenkins who side-stepped two players and hurtled down the wing for the first try.

Salisbury responded with a well-worked try from a tap penalty, but Chippenham regained the lead with a penalty from fly half Emery.

Salisbury took another tap penalty just before the break but Chippenham forced a handling error and the loose ball was kicked on by Jenkins, who won the race to the line for his second try. Emery added the conversion.

The second half developed into a forward tussle with countless scrums awarded in the middle of the field. The last ten minutes saw most of the action.

Another Jenkins break put winger James Steer into space. He passed to Emery who went over for the try that sealed the match and title for Chippenham.

Emery rubbed salt into Salisbury's wounds as he added a fine conversion from close to the touchline.

A late rally from Salisbury saw them score from a forward drive following another tap penalty close to the Chippenham line.

Chippenham under 14s 8, Salisbury under 14s 5

CHIPPENHAM reversed the result of an earlier pool game to claim the under 14s trophy.

The first half was a forward orientated affair with both sides kicking for territory rather than moving the ball wide and there was no score at half-time.

Chippenham upped the tempo in the second half and winger Jack Houston outstepped the retreating Salisbury defence to score the first try.

Salisbury equalised with a try in the left hand corner, and Chippenham were now facing the possibility of losing the Cup on the away team advantage ruling yet again until with just 90 seconds left they drove Salisbury back up the centre of the pitch with a series of text book pick-and-drives, forcing them to infringe at the breakdown on their 22 metre line and in front of the posts.

Full back Jordan Rees kicked the three points just before the final whistle.

Corsham under 13s 22, Chippenham under 13s 5

CORSHAM under 13s booked a second club appearance at the junior Dorset and Wilts finals next month by defeating Chippenham 22-5 in their Wiltshire final on Sunday.

With the colts team already through to a county showdown at Supermarine on April 15, the under 13s joined them after a convincing enough victory in blustery conditions.

Corsham led 10-0 at half-time, and added two more tries in the second half to secure their passage into the final - outside centre and player-of-the-match Robert Llopis-McCormack with two of his side's tries.

Henry Green scored Chippenham's try.
