WALKING is good for you.
That's the message from Runcorn GPs as they launched an innovative health promotion.
Patients were invited to chat to health professionals at Stay Active, Stay Well sessions in Hallwood and Murdishaw health centres.
"Everyone who came along really seemed to get something from the events," said Paula Parle, Halton's health and physical activity development officer.
Some healthy food tastings, weight loss seminars and various physical activities were on offer.
Patients also had a chance to chat to doctors without an appointment.
The first 50 people to register for health walks with GPs received a free pedometer. Experts reckon we should be walking about 10,000 steps.
