PLANS to regulate elevated levels of air pollution in Carnforth are being discussed by councillors today (Tuesday).

An assessment of air quality in the town concluded that pollution levels in parts of Market Street and the A6 Scotland Road and Lancaster Road exceeded an "air quality objective".

The pollution is primarily caused by road traffic exhaust emissions, said a report put before Lancaster City Council's cabinet.

Councillors will be discussing whether to declare an Air Quality Management Area, in Carnforth.
