I read in last week's Gazette that there was another new suggestion to transform Rose Bank Gardens - this time into a mystical labyrinth'.

Last year, there was a suggestion to turn the gardens into a sculpture park.

This seemed unnecessary as it was already a sculpture park with all the empty bottles, cans and rubbish strewn around after most weekends. It got so bad that some of us referred to it as Bottle Bank Gardens!

Only last week, a number of saplings were planted in upper Rose Bank Gardens.

Unfortunately, over the recent weekend, two of them were vandalised - one being broken in half and the other now has graffiti painted all the way down its trunk.

It would be extremely disheartening to see any future schemes go ahead only to be vandalised after considerable money and effort have been spent on them.
