Hundreds of young people from Wirral will be celebrating the success of their community schemes at a special Actions Speak Louder' event next week.

A total of 66 projects successfully applied last year for Youth Opportunity Fund and Youth Capital Fund money to finance new music projects, sports activities, buy new equipment and create leisure opportunities for young people across the borough.

The evening, next Tuesday, March 6, 6pm, at Wallasey Town Hall, is to celebrate this success and to announce which of the schemes has been voted by the grant panel as the one to represent Wirral nationally in the Youth Challenge Competition to find the best schemes in the country.

15 will be chosen as national winners and each will get around £35,000 to roll the scheme out more widely in their own area.

The youngsters have chosen a purple theme for the evening - so they will be dressed in purple for their perfect purple projects' - and the Town Hall will be decorated to match.
