ELDENE mum Leigh Sadler feels she is being victimised after vandals smashed her car for the second time in a month.

As the 29-year-old prepared to take her children to school on Tuesday she discovered the rear lights of her Volkswagen had been shattered.

Glass lay on the pavement and the boot had been damaged, allowing rainwater to pool inside.

The mother-of-four said: "I can't believe this has happened again. I'm so upset.

"There was a rock on the ground next to the car, which was parked outside the house overnight.

"They either did it in the evening or the morning, but we didn't hear anything."

Leigh now has to walk her children to Eldene School, a return journey that takes an hour, and she cannot get to her sales assistant job in Greenbridge.

"I can't help feeling that whoever did the first damage has seen me or my car and decided to repeat it," she said.

"But this time it's a long way from where the first stones were thrown, so it feels really vindictive.

"I can't get to work which creates a bad impression, and we don't have the money to pay for the repairs."

At the end of last month Leigh was shocked and scared when a large stone was thrown at her car from a footbridge in Dorcan Way.

It smashed the windscreen and ruined an evening meal that Leigh had planned with her husband Matt.

Leigh and her family faced a repair bill of hundreds of pounds.

But following the Advertiser report of the incident local repair firm Motofix came to Leigh's rescue.

Technicians mended her car for free, and Leigh was able to return to work.

After this latest episode, Leigh's father, Gary Fardon, is offering £500 to anybody who can provide information that leads to a conviction.

Mr Fardon, 49, said: "It's a pointless act of vandalism and I hope that there is somebody out there who feels guilty about it.

"They are a young family who work very hard with limited resources and the last thing they need is to face these setbacks on a regular basis.

"If there is someone who was with the people who did this then maybe they should consider what they could do with £500."

Mr Fardon is asking anybody who saw the incident in Overbrook to contact Swindon police on 0845 408 7000.
