PLACES are still up for grabs for teams wanting to take part in a charity tournament with some of footballs great former players.

Legends such as Ian Rush, Neil Ruddock, Dave Watson, John Aldridge and Bruce Grobbelaar are putting their football boots back on for the one-off tournament on June 28.

And it has been announced there are eight teams places left for the Charity Legends Football Competition at Blackburn's JJB Soccer Dome, in Haslingden Road, Guide.

The greats are coming together to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and will play the local team which makes it through to the final.

There are 25 squads of 10 who will play in five-a-side matches, but 17 teams have already booked.

Organisers Gavin Roper, 30, and his girlfriend Kelly Love, 28, of Wheatley Lane Road, Fence, hope to raise the £6,000 they need to complete a trek to Mount Kilimanjaro for Macmillan Cancer Support in September.
