Witney had the ideal start to their Chiltern League title defence with a storming win in their first round gala at Stoke Mandeville.

In the 14 & under category, 13-year-old Naomi Moore notched personal best times in the open freestyle and backstroke to win the swimmer of the match award, the runner-up votes being shared between Callum Moss and Joshua Relph.

Wantage White Horses raised £1,000 for Sobel House after swimming the equivalent of the channel at Wantage leisure centre.

They swam in 100m relays and achieved their goal in 55 minutes, easily beating their target time of 90 minutes.
