DISABILITY Action Wyre Forest is very disappointed with planning being approved for the former Zanzibar night club into flats without a lift.
We believe that this type of development will become difficult to sell in the future because anyone who buys a flat above the ground floor may find it difficult to access if they ever became disabled or they become elderly.
Disability Action Wyre Forest cannot comment on the £85,000 contribution by the developers to Wyre Forest District Council towards Park Lane urban park.
However, it will be interesting too see if the developer for the old telephone exchange in Blackwell Street is going to sponsor a district council project.
The telephone exchange has no disabled access planned at the moment.
Disability action has since contacted the Disability Rights Commission which has advised us to contact the Centre for Accessible Environments for guidance
