Super sub Gavin Holligan's electrifying start to the season has sparked interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Representatives from the Premiership giants have watched the youngster's last two games.

The 18 year old, who bagged two in Saturday's 5-1 demolition of Barrow, and should have claimed his first Ks hat-trick, has been the subject of informal inquiries from clubs in the other three divisions.

Boss Geoff Chapple was unavailable for comment on the interest Holligan has attracted.

But he can hardly be surprised, declaring in pre season the 18-year-old had the potential to go all the way. The Comet also understands wing back Tarkan Mustafa has been watched by Wolves.

The potential loss of two emerging stars will be a worry to Ks fans. But there was heartening news this week for all Conference supporters.

FA chairman Keith Wiseman said the days of "three up, three down" between Conference and Division Three are edging closer.

He acknowledged the need for "greater fluidity" between the two competitions and praised the standard of Conference soccer.

"I don't think it's desperately controversial to say it will come. It will enable the Conference to think about the possibility of play-off places for the third spot to keep the interest going," he said.

"The game at Conference level has developed enormously over the past few years and clubs that have won promotion to the Football League have proved more than capable of holding their own at the higher level."

But he insisted club facilities would still have to be up to scratch, and teams hoping for promotion would have to take the financial risk of making sure their grounds were up to scratch should they go up.
